New Business Recruitment
The Metropolitan Development Board (MDB) is the official business recruitment organization of the Birmingham – Hoover Metropolitan Area.
MDB officials work closely with site location consultants, corporate real estate executives and investors to showcase Birmingham – Hoover’s
location attributes for new business development. The Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce joins MDB in the business recruitment effort
by providing economic marketing information and demographics to facilitate new business development. Please contact the Metropolitan

Existing Business Retention and Expansion
The Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce promotes existing business retention and expansion in the Birmingham – Hoover Metropolitan Area.
The Chamber’s Existing Business Team (EBT!) provides professional individualized assistance for the retention and expansion of area businesses
in order to retain existing businesses, create jobs and capital investment in Birmingham – Hoover. Please contact

Technology and Bioscience Development
TechBirmingham leads, supports and coordinates the start-up, attraction, growth, retention and expansion of technology based businesses,
investments and jobs for the City of Birmingham and the surrounding region. Tech Birmingham works closely with other technology entities
such as the Biotechnology Association of Alabama and the Alabama Information Technology Association.
Central City Birmingham Residential and Commercial Development
Operation New Birmingham (ONB) is the primary steward of commercial and residential development in the region’s largest urban downtown area.
Economic and Demographic Trends Consultation / Presentation
The Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce is the primary source of economic, business and demographic information for the Birmingham – Hoover
Metropolitan Area. The Chamber’s research division can provide economic and demographic trends consultation and statistical information for the
entire Birmingham–Hoover metropolitan region.
